Founded by Joanna Adduci Reed, a personal chef, food writer & marketer, The Garden Party reflects a lifelong dedication to all things food and service.

Inspired by her Italian grandpa, Joanna embraced an obsession of food from an early age. To build her skills and get inspired, she embarked on culinary adventures over the years, studying with chefs in Ireland, Denmark, Puerto Rico, London, China, Portugal, and all throughout Italy. She later pursued more formal education by attending cooking school here in the US.

Balancing a corporate career with her true passion for cooking and hosting, Joanna spent years perfecting recipes, curating intimate supper club experiences, and sharing culinary moments with friends and family. In the corporate world Joanna worked as a food and travel writer, and later managed partnership + PR programs as a Director of Community Engagement. Her experience in the corporate space, coupled with a passion for serving others laid the groundwork for what would become The Garden Party.

Born and raised in New York, Joanna moved to Charlotte in 2022 to be closer to childhood friends. Earlier this year, she pursued her “second act” by transitioning to culinary & hospitality work full-time. Joanna (Jo) lives in South Charlotte with her husband Sean, and their dog Poppy. She enjoys traveling, playing music, visiting new restaurants, bars & coffee shops, and hosting extravagant coursed meals for friends and family.
